Krigene i området
Silesian Wars
((1740-1742), (1744-1745), (1756-1763))
The Silesian Wars were three wars fought in the mid-18th century between Prussia (under King Frederick the Great) and Austria (under Archduchess Maria Theresa) for control of the Central European region of Silesia (now in south-western Poland). The First (1740-1742) and Second (1744-1745) Silesian Wars formed parts of the wider War of the Austrian Succession, in which Prussia acted as one member of a coalition seeking territorial gain at Austria's expense. The Third Silesian War (1756-1763) was one theatre of the global Seven Years' War, in which Austria in turn led a coalition of powers aiming to seize Prussian territory.
Maria Theresa
Maria Theresa Walburga Amalia Christina (German: Maria Theresia; 13 May 1717 - 29 November 1780) was the only female ruler of the Habsburg dominions and the last of the House of Habsburg. She was the sovereign of Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Bohemia, Transylvania, Mantua, Milan, Lodomeria and Galicia, the Austrian Netherlands, and Parma. By marriage, she was Duchess of Lorraine, Grand Duchess of Tuscany and Holy Roman Empress.
Lands of the Bohemian Crown (1648-1867)
The Czech lands, then also known as Lands of the Bohemian Crown, were largely subject to the Habsburgs from the end of the Thirty Years' War in 1648 until the Austro-Hungarian Compromise of 1867. There were invasions by the Turks early in the period, and by the Prussians in the next century. The Habsburgs consolidated their rule and under Maria Theresa (1740-1780) adopted enlightened absolutism, with distinct institutions of the Bohemian Kingdom absorbed into centralized structures.
List of wars: 1500–1799
War of the Austrian Succession
The War of the Austrian Succession was a European conflict fought between 1740 and 1748, primarily in Central Europe, the Austrian Netherlands, Italy, the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea.
Russo-Swedish War (1741–1743)
The Russo-Swedish War of 1741–1743 (also known as The War of the Hats) was instigated by the Hats, a Swedish political party that aspired to regain the territories lost to Russia during the Great Northern War, and by French diplomacy, which sought to divert Russia's attention from supporting its long-standing ally the Habsburg monarchy in the War of the Austrian Succession.
Seven Years' War
The Seven Years' War (1756–1763) was a global conflict involving most of the European great powers. It was primarily fought in Central Europe within the borders of the Holy Roman Empire, with other major war fronts in North America, Western Europe, and South Asia, and more minor actions elsewhere. Great Britain and Prussia led one alliance, which also included Portugal, Hanover, and several minor German states.
